He's with me every day.
following me from room to room, He's part of my routine. When I'm at my desk, he's at my feet, asleep. When I'm in the kitchen, he watches for his treat. He may meow in greeting when he walks into a room, but mostly he's a quiet friend. We don't need to talk to have communication. We both like companionship, and so we share this space. He's getting very old, and I'm told he won't last long. I'm glad he doesn't know these rooms will loom so large and cold when he's gone. For he's with me every day, and though he's small and does not speak, what a difference he makes. - Rae Turnbull
