She's with me every day.
following me from room to room, She's part of my routine. When I'm at my desk, she's at my feet, asleep. When I'm in the kitchen, she watches for her treat. She may meow in greeting when she walks into a room, but mostly she's a quiet friend. We don't need to talk to have communication. We both like companionship, and so we share this space. She's getting very old, and I'm told she won't last long. I'm glad she doesn't know these rooms will loom so large and cold when she's gone. For she's with me every day, and though she's small and does not speak, what a difference she makes. - Rae Turnbull Lettered in the Italic hand. |
